News: Call of Duty: Ghosts sales are down 19% compared to Black Ops II, says analyst

A drop had been expected given the transition to new consoles.

While a drop had been expected by Activision, which has previously said that it believed the transition to new consoles would hurt sales, Cowen & Company's Doug Creutz believes the publisher should be worried.

"Upon further reflection, we think the [Call of Duty] numbers are a bit more troubling than they first appeared," Creutz wrote in a note to investors. "While the year-over-year gap is only 19 percent thus far, that includes two extra weeks of sales for the 360 and PS3 versions [of Black Ops II]. Against 2011′s [Modern Warfare 3], where the difference is only one week,...

Analyst: Call of Duty Ghosts Sales Numbers Are 'Troubling'

Added: 17.12.2013 5:17 | 7 views | 0 comments

Call of Duty: Ghosts debuted on Nov. 5 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC. Last year, Black Ops II didnt release until Nov. 12. In 2011, Modern Warfare 3 hit stores on Nov. 8. That means that even with more time to sell, Ghosts couldnt keep up with its two most-recent predecessors.

Call of Duty Didn't Win Best Shooter Again? About Time

Wade Westfall writes: If you've ever taken the time to check through this blog, then you would probably learn two things about me. 1. I really like Majora's Mask 2. I really hate the Call of Duty franchise I've ranted about this before, so I'll keep it short. It's not so much Call of Duty in itself that I can't stand. Modern Warfare was released that I played the game pretty consistently. But over the years a single game wears itself out, and that's what the entire Call of Duty franchise is: A single game with a yearly $60 map pack.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Xbox One Review (ThisisXbox)

ThisisXbox: "Where Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare shaped the biggest change for the game in its entirety shifting players out of the World War II era, Id like to say that Ghosts has done the same with another risk on Infinity Wards part taking us out of the Modern Warfare scenes and into this newer Gears of War style war torn humanity-breaking environment, but it lacks the same magic and surprises that Modern Warfare had reducing the game now to an enjoyable experience, but a little too bland in some parts. Where you might be looking for innovation and a game changer, its just sadly not there. This is Call of Duty, but back to basics!"

[WKG] Call of Duty: Ghosts Review

Added: 26.11.2013 11:17 | 7 views | 0 comments

Another year, another call of duty. Much like an iphone, the release of an annual Call Of Duty is quite certain. It's development zig-zags between Infinity Ward(IW) and Treyarch. This time around it is IW's turn and with it comes the promise of attack dogs and underwater adventures, but is it enough to justify the cost of yet another installment or are you just paying for glorified DLC content for Modern Warfare 3?

Call of Duty: Ghosts Review | GIZORAMA

Added: 26.11.2013 8:17 | 8 views | 0 comments

GIZORAMA - With a new generation of consoles comes a new universe of Call of Duty with the Infinity Ward developed Ghosts that brings players a whole new cast of characters to fight against another end of the world as we know it scenario. Infinity Ward finished the Modern Warfare universe decisively with Modern Warfare 3 and with the opportunity to branch out and try something new, Ghosts does almost nothing new. Sure there is Call of Duty Dog and 1080p at 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 4 but for better or worse Ghosts plays like it is Modern Warfare 4. Depending on how a person feels about the franchise, this is either a good thing or a bad thing.

Feature: Need For Speed's AllDrive isn't all that

Instead it's just one of a handful of problems that keep Rivals from greatness.

Then came host migration. No longer were we to lose progress because of another player’s frustration; we would simply endure a few moments of pause before the battle resumed. It was an important step, big enough for Infinity Ward to demo it in Modern Warfare 2's promotional stages.

But that was then and this is now. And with the next-gen consoles’ continued push for always-online, socially connected experiences, host migration alone doesn’t cut it anymore. We need systems – and servers – that complement the experiences that developers are trying to create. Rivals is a...
